Memorial Services will be held at Headwaters  11:00 AM Saturday, April 29, 2017, Ernie Durbin officiating. Followed by interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Headwaters , 931 Main Street, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.

Alice Hoover was one of the founding people of Headwaters. She was with us from the very beginning and was foundational in the direction of our fellowship. Alice was a part of the fellowship every time the doors were open…  many times she was there early enough to unlock the door and start the coffee.

Faithful is a word that you can associate with Alice.

She loved our fellowship and we will miss her terribly. We take heart that we will see her soon.

Below is the official obituary for Alice although it certainly cannot capture all there is to know and love about Alice Hoover.

We love you Alice and we will see you soon!

Alice Caroline Hoover, age 86, the only daughter of William and Della Kalberer was born at home on August 28, 1930 and died April 4, 2017. Alice spent her summers working as a playground leader under the guidance of Jim Grimm. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1948. Soon after, Alice then went to work at the main building of the Lane Public Library. On March 9, 1951, Alice married David Hoover and they had two sons, Bill and John. The Hoovers moved to California for several years and on their return Alice resumed work at the library in the bookmobile department as a clerk and driver. In 1988 Alice retired after 30 years service as a bookmobile supervisor. Formerly a member of Westwood Presbyterian Church, Alice sang in the choir, was a deacon, and a faithful member. Responding to a call of God, Alice left Westwood to help charter a new church, Headwaters Contemporary Christian Communities (located at 913 Main Street). There Alice was a praise singer and organized outreach programs to local missions. Alice always loved to lift her voice to sing praises to the Lord. She also remembered the songs of the 1940’s and 50s, singing them to the amusement of her co-workers and friends. Perpetually busy, Alice enjoyed playing bridge and looking for projects to help others. She was one of the original volunteers at the information desk at the Government Services Building on High Street. Alice was proceeded in death by her husband, David (May 1995) and son Bill (September 1995). She is survived by her son John (Cincinnati) and lifetime friends and neighbors, Joan and Janet Fatika as well as many other friends.
